2025 December: Adopt-a-Family 2025

This Christmas season, The Faulk Foundation was proud to once again bring our Adopt-A-Family program to life with the help of our generous donors and dedicated volunteers. Your support made a meaningful impact and helped create a memorable holiday experience for families in need across our community.

This year, the program served 50 families, providing essential items such as cleaning supplies, hygiene products, bedding, towels, grocery gift cards, breakfast items, and toys for children. These contributions offered more than just necessities—they delivered comfort, relief, and a sense of hope during the holiday season.

We are especially grateful to the volunteers who joined us last week to help wrap and distribute gifts. Their time and commitment were essential to the success of the event. A special recognition goes to Nick W. for 17 years of dedicated volunteer service, along with all of the children and students who continue to support the cause year after year.

We also extend a heartfelt thank-you to Astronaut Lichtenberg for making the day unforgettable for the children. Meeting a real astronaut was a unique and inspiring experience many of them will remember for years to come.

2025 December: Recognizing Ed McMahon, Faulk Foundation Board Member and Largest Single Donor of 2025

Honoring Ed McMahon: Board Member and the Faulk Foundation’s Largest Single Donor of 2025

The Faulk Foundation is proud to recognize Ed McMahon, Board Member, as our largest single donor of 2025. His generosity and leadership continue to strengthen our mission and expand our impact on the community.

Ed’s history of service runs deep. He has long supported the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving on numerous committees and becoming an inaugural member of the Poultry Auction Committee. He co-founded the American Art Classic in 1986, which raised more than one million dollars for the HLSR and the Edna Gladney Center in Fort Worth, and later co-chaired the Western Heritage Sale to support student art scholarships.

His charitable work extends across Houston, including support for Citizens for Animal Protection, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Texas Children’s Hospital, and the Baylor Research Advocates for Student Scientists.

We are honored to celebrate Ed’s commitment, leadership, and generosity. His contribution this year plays a vital role in helping the Faulk Foundation reach more families and continue its mission of meaningful community support.

2025 November: Optimist Club of Downtown Houston Donates $10,000

100% of Donations, 100% Impact: The Optimist Club of Downtown Houston Donates $10,000 to The Faulk Foundation Scholarship Fund!

At The Faulk Foundation, we believe transparency builds trust — and that every gift should go directly toward making a difference. That’s why 100% of all donations support programs that help students pursue education through scholarships and trade school opportunities.

We’re proud to share that the Optimist Club of Downtown Houston, represented by Richard Gruen, has made a generous $10,000 donation to our scholarship fund. This contribution will directly support students committed to advancing their education and building meaningful careers.

“Gifts like this keep our mission moving forward,” said Carolyn Faulk, Founder of The Faulk Foundation. “When donors see the full impact of their generosity — knowing that every dollar helps someone achieve their dreams — it creates a ripple effect of change.”

The donation will be managed by our Scholarship Committee, led by Brian Teichman, Director of Fundraising, and Jimmie Allen, Director of Trade Schools, Scholarships, ensuring that funds are allocated where they can make the greatest impact.

At The Faulk Foundation, giving is simple, transparent, and impactful. Every donation — no matter the size — goes 100% to the cause.

2025 August: Back-to-School Backpack Event

This year’s Back-to-School donation event was a true reflection of why The Faulk Foundation stands for – 100% giving, 100% heart!

With the help of our volunteers, we were able to prepare and distribute over 650 backpacks filled with school supplies for Seguin Elementary School, and more than 150 backpacks for select special needs and low-income students at Hamilton Middle School – helping ensure they’re set up for a successful school year.

A special highlight this year was seeing three of our Faulk Foundation Scholarship recipients join us to give back:

  • Ashton Tudyk – Texas A&M University, Economics
  • Emily Lopez – Sam Houston State University, Nursing
  • Michael Robledo – Sam Houston State University, Mechanical Technology

We are incredibly proud of these scholars, who continue to lead by example and show the spirit of service and community support.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of this, especially our dedicated long-time volunteers, their families, and the hardworking A&C Plastics Inc., and Marco Skylights employees.

2025 July: Our Commitment to the Texas Hill Country Relief

As Texas Hill Country continues its recovery from the recent floods, we remain committed to helping those in need. The Faulk Foundation, with the support of the Gourmet Wranglers – Meat Buying Group (Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo – HLSR), recently made two trips to the region to complete our second delivery, providing vital resources to those affected.

We distributed over $9,000 in gift cards, more than 2,000 pounds of meat, and 150 travel-size toiletry kits, which included essentials like shampoo, soap, lotion, deodorant, toothpaste and other personal care items.

Our ability to assist is proof of the strength of our community – Texans helping Texans. We are grateful to everyone who has stepped up to lend a hand. From generous donors to hardworking volunteers, each person plays a vital role in bringing hope and support to Hill Country.

As we continue our work, we invite you to be a part of it. Every donation is used to provide essential resources and aid to those in need. 100% of your donation directly supports them. Make a tax-deductible donation to the Faulk Foundation today and help us continue to create lasting changes.

2025 June: A Special Experience for a Brave Cowboy

Meet this brave little cowboy who’s battling cancer with the heart of a champion. Though he lives in California, he frequently gets his treatment in Houston, the number one leading cancer center in the world. During this he has become a cherished member of The Faulk Foundation family through our partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital.

His journey has been nothing short of inspiring, and we are happy to see him riding the Grand Entry at the Houston Rodeo and throwing out the first pitch at an Astros game! Thanks to our incredible board member Richard Gruen, he was also able to enjoy a VIP tour of the ballpark – an experience we are sure he will never forget.

These are the moments that remind us why we give 100%. It’s about more than just giving; it’s about making lasting memories and supporting those who need it most.

2025 May: Texas Children’s Hospital NICU Delivery

The Faulk Foundation is proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital by providing essential baby items to families in need.

When Nancy Mendoza, a dedicated NICU nurse, reached out to us for support, we didn’t hesitate to help. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is home to some of the most vulnerable infants, and many families face financial challenges while caring for their babies.

In response, we delivered a collection of baby clothes, diapers, wipes, and other essential items to help bring comfort and relief to these families in need.

At the Faulk Foundation, we believe every child deserves comfort, care, and dignity so it was an honor to support our community’s tiniest and most courageous members.
